Whether it's his adult books or his children's book, every single one is more precious than the last. I am by no means a child (my mother would argue otherwise), but this book was really special. It talks to children about the importance of kindness in a cruel world, about how social media and the internet is great until it's not, about how your true friends are almost always the unexpected ones.

Absolutely adored this book!! Matt Haig has done a FAB job of writing this story! It is great to read a story about animals in such a different light to 'normal'. I grew very fond of Evie as her warm-hearted and caring personality is shown towards the animals and humans. Author Guy Bass introduces SCRAP, about one robot who tried to protect the humans on his planet against an army of robots. Now the humans need his... Twelve-year-old Evie has a talent. She can HEAR what animals are thinking and she can TALK to them with her mind. If you like stories about animals with a hero and a villain this is definitely one for you. Could you imagine having a super power? I doubt it. Well, 11-year-old Evie doesn’t have to, she can telepathically communicate with animals. But this talent could put her in grave danger. Four and half out of five stars. I really love this book because it was all about animals and the story line was very exciting. Evie’s talent talking to animals was super cool and it helped her save herself and her family. She was also very kind to the animals and they also helped save her and her family because of it. This is a timely novel which has themes around helping save the environment and its animals and will surely appeal to all animal lovers. This character led tightly plotted thriller enables the reader to fully engage with the heart-warming story, whilst also embracing your own difference – making for a very satisfactory reading experience in a chapter book. Evie has a talent that can let her hear the thoughts of an elephant, and make friends with a dog and a sparrow. After a face-to-face encounter with a lion, things start to go wrong. Her family and every animal in town is in danger. Step into a world filled with secrets and an evil man known as Mortimer J Mortimer. This is a gripping adventure. I would describe this book in three words: danger, animals and hero. I would rate this five stars out of five. Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments Ich kann leider nicht ganz nachvollziehen, warum „Evie und die Macht der Tiere“ derart hochgelobt wurde. Ja, das Buch ist von Matt Haig, und? Die Grundidee ist sehr nett, einfach und nicht neu. Evie kann mit Tieren sprechen bzw. kann sie deren Gedanken hören und sie dann ebenfalls in Gedanken ansprechen, was zumindest den Peinlichkeitsfaktor ein wenig reduziert. Was neu ist, ist dass sie die einzige zu sein scheint, die diese Gabe hat. Ihr Vater hat ihr zudem strengstens verboten, die Gabe auszuleben. Man erfährt auch recht bald warum. Ein böser Mann, der die Gabe auch hat, damit Tiere jedoch nach seinem Willen manipuliert, ist Schuld am Tod von Evies Mutter und will alle Menschen, die diese Gabe ebenfalls haben, vernichten. Wir haben also eine tote Mutter (und weitere Tote, die am Rande erwähnt werden), einen Superbösewicht, viele Geheimnisse und ein paar Klischees (die Direktorin erfüllt etwa alle Klischee einer negativen Schuldirektorin). Die tierischen Nebenfiguren gefielen mit alle, wie auch Evies Großmutter und deren Einstellungen zum Leben. I was a bit scared in the beginning because l was frightened of Mortimer. But in the end it was very happy. I would recommend this book to people who like animals or even talk to them.Evie hat ein Talent. Ein Supertalent. Sie kann hören, was Elefanten denken, und mit einem Spatzen plaudern. He has the same magical powers as Evie, but uses them in his attempt to conquer the world. I would definitely recommend this book to any ages.
