About this deal

The Poly Sync 20+ includes the BT600 USB Bluetooth adaptor, which lets users wirelessly connect to their computer. It picked up my voice better, and the speaker put out quite a bit more sound when compared to the Sync 20. I was a bit skeptical at first, as many collaboration products promise to make hybrid work more collaborative, but this product genuinely surprised me with its simplicity, portability, and compactness. For example, the Poly Sync 20 uses a 3 microphone steerable array, where the Jabra Speak 710 uses a single, omni directional microphone that can pick up voices at any angle.

They both can connect to a computer via the included USB cable, or they can connect via a USB dongle. On November 12 th, Poly announced the availability of the Microsoft Teams-certified Poly Sync 20, a smart wireless speakerphone designed for working from home.

Now you can switch between your favorite functions – such as play or pause music, last number redial, voice assistant, and more – with the touch of the programmable button. Poly seems committed to improving the work from home experience by launching collaboration devices, and the team is executing well. One very attractive feature of the Jabra Speak 710 is you can daisy chain two of the speakerphones together wirelessly. Another significant value-add is the ability to work with a wide range of platforms, including Teams and Zoom. Use it in Your Off Time – The Sync 20 is not just a speakerphone, it’s also a high-performance speaker that can be used for listening to music.

Setting the equalizer to "Bass" in the Poly Lens app does help improve things considerably, but the monaural experience can be off-putting for some. Whichever package you go for will come with the speakerphone itself, a nice little carry case and, for some reason, a lanyard. As you can see in our pink noise diagram below, the Sync 20+ can reproduce distinct bass only from around the 52 kHz mark. To bring this audio experience to life, Poly’s multi-microphone array reduces both echo and unwanted background noise – keeping the focus on who’s speaking. Both the Sync 20 and Sync 20+ can connect to smartphones via built-in Bluetooth and to PC or Mac via USB.With hybrid and work from home environments continuing to play a huge role in the working experience, the Poly Sync 40 and Poly Sync 60 are coming just at the right time. We found this to be largely true while testing with lossless FLAC tracks such as Belle from Notre Damde de Paris, Hotel California by The Eagles, and Child of the Universe by Ambra Angiolini, which have distinct vocal and guitar signatures.

The top of the device is completely occupied by the speaker area, which internally houses a bass reflex system with dual-passive radiators, a 40 mm loudspeaker, and a steerable three-microphone array. This sleek, compact device was designed to be flexible – so you can work from anywhere and be guaranteed the best Microsoft Teams experiences. While a decent audio subsystem is not uncommon nowadays in laptops and smartphones, there is still a lot of scope for improvement when it comes to audio quality particularly for richer meetings and online experiences. One feature that’s pretty cool on the Sync 20 is it has a USB port that can be used to charge a mobile phone even when being used for a meeting. When I am not hunting for the next big story or taking complex measurements for reviews, you can find me unwinding to a nice read, listening to some soulful music, or trying out a new game. Some models of the Poly Sync 20 seem to have a Microsoft Teams logo button on the front of the device.
