Confessions Of A Window Cleaner (1974) The first of four saucy comedies adapted from the best-selling novels of Timothy Lea - the pen name of Christopher… Confessions Of A Pop Performer (1975) Confessions of a Window Cleaner had only been on release for two months when Columbia Pictures demanded a sequel of initially…

What's Up Superdoc? (1978) Dr Robert Todd (Christopher Mitchell) is approached by Dr Annabel Leith (Julia Goodman), who is working on an artificial insemination… Eric, one of the members of Kipper in Pop Performer, played by Maynard Williams, the son of Bill Maynard.Stand Up Virgin Soldiers (1977) Writer Leslie Thomas revisits his Malayan war memoirs but this time the result is more akin to "Confessions of a…

Adventures Of A Taxi Driver (1976) Girls and trouble are inseparable for young London taxi driver Joe North (a miscast Barry Evans) who uses his job… The three mourners in Confessions from a Holiday Camp were all played by real-life siblings of Doris Hare. Eventually, the hippo explodes, hurling a naked Timmy into the swimming pool, where he is seen (but again not recognised) by Whitemonk. Even some of the corny jokes are well below the quality threshold we expected from the finest British sex comedies.Nothing is going to keep Timmy’s Mum (Doris Hare), Dad (Bill Maynard) and sister Rosie (Sheila White) from a free holiday at the camp. In August 1977 Belling told Screen International; “I’ve seen a lot of 18-year-old scrubbers in the last 18 months, but when we found Debbie Ash we knew she was right!”. Deer Hunter, The (1978) One of America's first attempts to deal with the Vietnam War on film, Michael Cimino's masterpiece is long and richly… Unfortunately for Timmy, Dad and Mum are in a ghostly mood too, and they have a very unusual (and unclothed) coming together . . . Irish director Norman Cohen, who handled three of the quartet (Val Guest made the original Confessions of a Window Cleaner), also made the movie versions of Till Death Us Do Part and Dad’s Army.

Soft focus prettiness sits awkwardly alongside comedy capers with a skeleton, humping in hospital laundry baskets and patients mistakenly drinking urine samples. All You Need Is Cash (The Rutles) (1978) Starting out as a two-minute sketch on Idle's post-Monty Python comedy show, Rutland Weekend Television, The Rutles took on a life…

Four films from the popular 1970s Confessions... sex comedy series, following the saucy antics of the hapless Timothy Lea ( Robin Askwith). Playing Against Type: Caroline Ellis (Glad in Holiday Camp) was best known for mostly playing innocent girls on children's TV and took the role to (unsuccessfully) break into more mature roles. Whilst this was the last in the series two further films, Confessions Of A Plumber’s Mate and Confessions Of A Private Soldier, had been planned, but never materialised. The reason is believed to be that then Columbia Pictures president David Begelman the man who had given the go ahead for the original films was implicated in a cheque-forging scandal and was consequently fired or he resigned, whichever way he was replaced and his successor had no interest in continuing the series.Sharing a room in the nurses’ home with an upper-class nympho called Penny Green (Carolyne Argyle), Rosie becomes the focus of sexual attention for a gaggle of lecherous student doctors whose main priority is shagging rather than treating patients. This is great fun until the arrival of a new manager, Mr Whitemonk. He decides to change the bad habits and in doing so turns their lives into hell. That is until somebody has a rather good idea.
