Steel is currently very popular, particularly in Europe, and the hard-wearing enamel coating gives a beautiful long lasting surface which is resistant to scratching and similar damage. Steel shower trays are very strong and will not flex, and so are generally used for larger sized shower trays. Take experienced advice.
